SASLI Program Costs

The SASLI 2017 program costs $4,800. Program fees cover tuition, fees, and expenditures for cultural events. The program fee includes the UW-Madison segregated fees. The program fee does not include the cost of textbooks, living expenses, or the new student transcript fee. The new student transcript fee will be charged by UW-Madison to any student who has never taken a course at UW-Madison. The fee is $65 and will be assessed only one time per student, with the benefit of unlimited transcript orders. If you have already taken a course at UW-Madison, you should not have to pay the fee. All applications require a $25 fee to be paid upon submission of the online application.

SASLI is open to undergraduates, graduate students and non-student professionals. In an effort to make the program more affordable, the SASLI Board of Trustees has approved a $1000 Fee Remission for those students who attend the program without other, non-loan funding. Please note there are restrictions on combined funding. More information on eligbility for the $1000 Fee Remission can be found on the Funding page under the Fee Remission header. Questions about this policy can be addressed to the SASLI office.

If you are receiving other funding (FLAS, Half/Full Fee Remission, Project GO Funding, Boren, CLS, home institution funding, etc.), you are not eligible for the $1000 Fee Remission and your program costs will be $4800 + $25 application fee. When submitting an application for funding, you must list your program fees as $4800.

Please see below for a breakdown of program costs based on student status/funding situation. Please note, the $65 transcript fee is not included in these breakdowns as some students will be charged this amount (if you have never taken a class at UW-Madison) and some students will not be charged the fee (if you have previously taken a class at UW-Madison, SASLI or otherwise). More information can be found on the Registrar's Website:
