The Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad (DDRA) program funds doctoral candidates to conduct research in other countries for periods of 6 to 12 months. Applicants must be US citizens, nationals, or permanent residents and proficient in the foreign language/s to be used to conduct their research. The grant does not fund research whose primary focus is on Western European countries though it does allow for & fund research visits to western European countries that are part of a larger project focused elsewhere.
Though the 2024 competition has not yet opened, the UW-Madison Fulbright Coordinator will be hosting an information session on November 14 for graduate students interested in learning more about the DDRA and getting a jump start on their applications!
